Sex, Desire & Attachment with Emily Nagoski, Ph.D.: New Science & Strategies to Transform Couples’ Sex Lives
Hi there! My name is Matthew Sidler and I am a sex and relationship therapist in New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Florida. Despite being hardwired for connection, self-doubt, anxiety, depression, and other everyday obstacles tend to get in the way. Struggles related to sexual desire, performance, or physical functioning are so often burdened by shame or embarrassment. As a sex and relationship therapist, I work with clients to develop greater comfort around these topics.
I am a make-up artist turned elementary school teacher turned therapist. Through these different experiences, I've witnessed vulnerability and connection through different lenses. From the feeling of self-worth a person derives from their outer beauty to the childhood innocence and the pride that comes with the development of competency and a sense of self.
My work is highly collaborative and integrates the Gottman Method as well as various behavioral and attachment-informed therapies. As it relates to connection and sexuality, I strive to hold space for different experiences. My role is not to steer clients in a direction I believe they should go in but rather to walk alongside them, helping them gain clarity and comfort in living the life they want to live.
While my practice is inclusive of all types of couples and individuals, I am extremely passionate about serving clients in the LGBTQIA+ community. I take great pride in providing services to folks in the community.
